Autorama Montreal Car Show, October 1st & 2nd 2016: Video Recap
Last week-end was Autorama car show in beautiful Montreal, Qc, Canada and we headed there for what’s probably one of the last car shows of the season here. Winter is about to come and ’tis the season where tuners store away their car for another 4-5 months and where AWD’s owner can’t wait to start to have fun again.
Pushing the limit
It’s been an awesome weekend packed with numerous awesome cars. From hardcore race cars to clean little euro rides, lowriders and classic muscle cars, jdm monsters and plenty of all-show-no-go works of art, everybody could find something to love. There was cars so low, it made you wonder how the hell do they got the car off their trailers! Just take a look at that slammed white Acura with the fender between the tire lip and the mag wheel! Seriously, I don’t even get the point here! Did they really deflate the tires and all just for the show? Some people are really crazy but you have to admire the level of dedication they put on always pushing the limit a little farther.
Talking of pushing thing, I have to say I really like where things are going these days. As some of you may know, I’m a big fan of daily driven race cars. You know, the kind of car that have bumpers hooked to the fenders with straps, no trunk cover and the wing bolted to the bottom of the trunk and some tie-wraps here and there. It just better fits my own personality. I like things to go fast and I don’t really care if it looks a little sketchy. It’s part of the charm. I’ve never been a big fan of mint looking cars with big chrome wheels serving absolutely no purpose and huge sound systems that only weigh you down. These cars cost a lot of money (which I don’t have) and you can’t really drive it as you would want because you don’t want to crack that expensive but useless front lip (which I don’t really care about). Well, lets just say that this year’s Autorama was almost made specifically for me!
Cars are still getting lower, fenders are getting wider. Less chrome and more simple and clean-looking cars (that grey Vw Golf with the huge turbo sitting on top !) are being built.
I really like where all this is going!
Good ol’ work of art
And you needed to see that old car sporting a military livery! The amount of details put on that car left me gazing in awe for some time. From the wrench used as tow hooks and emblems to the riffle bullets used as door handles to the 8 side-pipes conveniently place to look like those of a P-40 Warhawk military plane, the amount of work and creativity needed to customize a car like this one is beyond imagination. Did I mention the airplane bucket seat?
Ladies on Wheels
Once again, one of the best booth was from the Ladies on Wheels. Seriously, these girls sure know how to rock a car show. With some of the sickest rides of the week-end, it was absolutely worth
the look!
Anyway, you had to be there to really enjoy it to the fullest but for those of you who couldn’t come or, obviously, if you don’t have the chance to live in Montréal or near by, here’s a little video recap of the week-end. The video was mostly shot for test purpose (since it was a first for me to shoot something at a car show) but after testing and editing for a while, I decided that I would just post it anyway for you to enjoy.
I do know I need to buy some of those SteadyCam add-on for my GoPro, though. I hadn’t realized how much it’s shaking when I walk! :p
By the way, if some of you know what’s the thing with the wheels on the white Acura, make sure to leave a comment below. Never seen that before!
Cheers and have a nice day!
